Any student of history should know that Chinese economic and cultural dominance is more the norm than an anomaly. They are smart, hard-working, disciplined and look after themselves without becoming China First, though Xi definitely has a bit more of that than prior leaders. I couldn't agree more about the harm these New Broligarchs are doing. They need to be humbled.
