China will always be a force to be reckoned with but they will never have a global cultural appeal. That requires a common language, music, movies and more. Chinese is a cool language but it's impractical for computers and western music, hard to learn, hard to teach which makes global domination very difficult if not impossible. I don't think that's the goal for China. They are a China First culture.
