Fix These Glaring Bugs In American Government

It’s fairly easy to see the American Experiment is not turning out as desired. I didn’t say “as planned” because it’s not really possible to plan for 247 years in the future so what we really need to do is change the plan. What is a government but a group of people working in a bunch of buildings following a system of rules to achieve a bunch of reasonable objectives, i.e. The Mission. The rules of Government can be likened to our Operating System and as a verteran software developer I can tell you we are in dire need of a Major Upgrade. Upgrade = Better Government. Not more government—just better, more efficient and more effective.

The basic Mission has stayed the same:

1. Protect the People and their Interests
2. Represent the People
3. Secure the Rights of the People
4. Provide a System of Justice
5. Foster Commerce & Research
6. Improve Diplomatic Ties to the World

Over the centuries we have certainly experienced evolutionary Mission Creep:

1. Protect & Foster Democracy
2. Protect Allies
3. Guard the Borders
4. Bring in Quality New Citizens
5. Explore Space
