My Accumulated Wisdom, Such As It Is
I have lived 65 years in a remarkably stable, mostly happy state of mind. Mine has been a good, very fortunate life—not in money but in family, love, friends, music, art, food, mental delights, beauty and inspiration. I want to share anything I can to give anyone a chance to do the same, not really knowing how much of my happiness is due to Nature and how much Nurture. I’ve tried to compile a list of my beliefs and tendencies in case they have value. I hope these things will help you to have a better life. Much of it is age old wisdom I agree with. Much even cliché. Some of it is redundant. So is breathing. Life takes a lot of practice but at some point we all must go on stage and “perform” our lives in and to the world.
“There are two kinds of people — those who believe everything is a miracle, and those who believe nothing is a miracle.” — Albert Einstein
Everything is a miracle.
Your Time
Spend your time well. It is the most valuable thing you have.
Each day, stop to appreciate something.
Each day, perform some maintenance on your life even if just 10 minutes: Organize, Clean up, Throw out, Plan.
When you wake up, think of something positive you’d like to do with your time.
