How Good Could We Have It?

As an eternal optimist I don’t like to dwell on all of our problems as a species or as a nation, but rather on the solutions to those problems. Of course, one has to acknowledge and study a problem to solve it. Each individual problem has its own challenges and many problems also have common challenges as well such as a general lack of education or critical thinking skills. I would start any serious improvement regimen for society with education. The sooner the better because, education takes quite awhile to take root and bear fruit, usually a generation or two. By starting down the right path we could eventually achieve anything we wanted including:

  • A well-educated population
  • Sustainable, green economics
  • Better, tastier, healthier, cruelty-free foods
  • Beautiful environment and surroundings
  • Universal mental and physical health benefits
  • Faster, cleaner, quieter travel
  • Just and fair Democracy
  • High standards of living for everybody
  • The end of large-scale poverty
  • The end of mass crime
  • The end of spam and aggressive marketing
  • Full control over our personal data
  • Much more free time and less tedious…
