I aspire to superior love and forgiveness on a personal level, but on a government, legal level we need to be dispassionate and protect the masses so THEY can love and forgive their enemies, ex. Not die alone on a ventilator because a president discouraged a vaccine. Some of the vitriol you see is a means of letting the sociopath and narcissist know the pain he’s caused and is in fact karma returning to him. There are a few people who are the lowest forms of life on Earth because they know better but continue to lie and harm others. So make sure your forgiveness is similar to how you would forgive superior creatures such as scorpions and wasps that know not what they do when they sting.
