I call it ideational or memetic inbreeding. When AI feeds on itself it becomes inbred and produces monsters and dumb stuff we can no longer relate to. Art becomes the same and everybody is the same artist. Words become uninspired and dull-spirited. Music is dead sounding. It's a great tool but as you rightly say, the tool is nothing without the tool makers and something good to work with.
