I didn’t mean to say it was automatically dangerous and I specifically say that non-sentient AI is dangerous already. If the said brilliant sentient AI were possible I assure you it is already fully in control of this plane of existence because it’s ridiculous to presume we’re the first in the universe to develop it. We could be billions or more years behind and thus already subservient to a far superior sentient being. So I don’t so far see the benefits and quite the opposite, total chaos. A world where garbled together quasi sentient AI’s duke it out sounds like a nightmare not to mention all the ethical problems I raise here and in the companion piece. We have no proof that sentience spawns compassion and plenty of horrendous counter examples starting in the primordial oceans. Then the main theme is we very likely won’t be able to prove it is aware due to the paradox mentioned. Seem aware, yes. Be aware? Prove it.
