I feel the USA is nothing but a microcosm of the World, a place dominated by disgusting human greed and daily behavior of sorts as egregious as anything Obama or Clinton did (poor Gaddafi and Saddam deprived of their iron fist rules), whether its industrial ships cutting the fins off of sharks for Chinese soup, horrific treatment of women everywhere, Brazilian titans scraping the last bit of the Amazon rain forest, a poacher seeking the last Rhino horn, extortionists creating bitcoin ransomware, and religious zealots of each type visiting their God's wrath on their enemies, autocrats abusing power against billions.

Thankfully, there are the great people you mentioned and many more and I believe they will save and redeem us because I still believe in Love and bending the arc toward Justice. It might not be tomorrow but I can feel change coming and a slight weakening of the dark forces, an ending of the fossil fuel age and a reckoning with the old ways which are more than a single country, a threat to human survival. Basically, if the US microcosm can't work out its problems, then it's doubtful the rest of the world will. Who will save the Earth?
