I guess I'm not sure where you are getting your indisputable information to be proclaiming the answer to what consciousness is or isn't. Just claiming that brains are made of ordinary, non-magical stuff already cracks me up because it's actually made of extraordinary, extremely magical stuff as far as I can tell. Look at CERN, a gigantic supercollider that still hasn't even figured out what matter actually is made out of and keeps discovering new things. No one doubts if you damage a brain or anesthetize it, it stops functioning. So does a radio but the radio transmission doesn't stop. You've done little to prove the mind only exists in the head, or that it's not an interface to something external other than assert it without proof.

Also, as I said, it's not really a bonus to mass-produce sentience and have to extend rights to billions of machines too (maybe even your refrigerator), especially since we haven't even perfected human and animal rights yet. Sounds like torture to me. When you can demonstrate a machine that actually feels pain and anguish and love, please let me know. I don't mean one with sensors, I mean one where sensors translate input to feelings and awareness.
