I still, after your heartfelt pleas for reparations, and noble efforts to become part of the solution, detect a certain hypocrisy in your diatribe. First we fully agree that the West is and has always been exploitive. Boo. But so has the East. Have you seen a Chinese or Japanese industrial fishing vessel off the coast of Ecuador lately, maybe fishing the last bit of fish out of the sea or just taking the fins off the sharks for some nice soup? So has the Middle East, draining the last oil at the highest price possible for as long as possible.

I'm reminded of the guy who kills the last Rhino to satisfy the greed of someone in China who needs an imaginary boner pill and so to feed his family he will kill the Rhino. Or destroy the rain forest to satisfy McDonalds as though that is his only choice. What you have said is South American's have no power over themselves but must sell their soul to live and must denude the Amazon because surely this is the only way to live well. Why would you admit that? No, there are greedy, corrupt people down there too. Lots of them. Not the indigenous though!

Trillions in stolen gold? True no doubt but what is gold really worth? You can't eat it. It's just a shiny metal. That gold is all around the world 50 times by now and most of it went to Spain, almost none to the United States. We mined the Rockies for our gold which is awful in itself. That will never be returned, unfortunately.

So as a fellow developer then you must know how much energy AR and VR and AI consume, right? 20 years is a long time to consume so much energy for 1's and 0's, no? All those Google and Stack Overflow searches! I'm not blaming you but you inherited the western legacy of computers and use them regularly including reading this. I'm quite aware of Eastern thinkers and how much western math and science derive from the East and Arabic sources. But you see, this is why I have a holistic approach to History. None is greater than the other because all are integral to the whole. I give every tribesman equal credit and then some.

Your goals seem to be more about retribution and divisive us vs. them mentality. It's anger based. I understand why. There is no punishment harsh enough for humanity for all the harm its done EVERYWHERE it is, except for the indigenous, who I will always hold in the highest esteem because they lived in harmony with Nature. The last thing I would want is to give them all lots of money so they could do what we have done with money. No, my dream works the other way, that we LEARN from them how to not need money and things to be happy and to live in balance with and respecting Nature.
