Indeed, everything that happens in the Universe can be called energy but more precisely, manifestations of energy. In human affairs it's much more nuanced because energy is coupled with information and organization (extropy) and is always fighting the forces of entropy both external and internal. It also includes hidden fields and forces, aesthetics, meaning, purpose, emotions and the intangibles of conscious living.

I think what you may really mean is money is an imaginary construct of transactional information set up in a field of free resources of all types, not only sunlight. The Earth's Biosphere is a reflective closed Biologic/Physical System in space powered by the Sun so anything that changes the homeostasis too quickly or too toxically threatens collapse and reset.

In the end we are all renters who pay the Cosmos for time with aging and death and the Biosphere is the capitalist that produces plants and creatures who move seeds and nutrients around. The profit is measured in Evolution and everything we are experiencing is in a VERY long history of that. AI and automation as well as solar and fusion are to transform the relationships of labor and ownership back to the Biosphere where our mission is one of stewardship and appreciation for all we are given.
