It's a conviction that one lacks belief or has made a conscious, rational decision which can lead to other paradoxes like how the whole Cosmos came out of a single point or how time has no actual beginning so any number of gods could scientifically evolve over eternity. There is no escape from the paradoxes of free will and consciousness. Gödel's Incompleteness theorem proved no system can define itself absolutely.
