No country that falls under the iron thumb or purview of one man can ever be trusted with any level of cooperation, let alone deep levels. Only a country that demonstrates strict legal and democratic controls with sufficient checks and balances for an extended period could be entertained and counties such as Turkey and Hungary are pushing the limits as is. NATO needs to be very cautious with who it lets into the Defensive Coalition and shared protocols.
