Oh wow, that is much different than my family and friends. No one around me is trying to convert me or condemn me and in fact we are mostly on the same page so I sympathize with you. What I find ironic about all that is so often they are ignoring the teachings they claim to follow such as "Judge not lest ye be judged" or following the golden rule, etc. When their savior was very saintly, kind and forgiving they seemed to miss the memo. That's also why fewer and fewer young people are participating in religion because it's so hypocritical and they see through it. Now it's mixed in with politics and guns and women's reproduction, etc. so it's just getting worse and less appealing each year IMO.
