Once again I will refer to Evolution but in respect to national birth and continuance. The US was a product of E History, a distinct evolutionary mutation from the Kings and Queens of Yore, the monarchies, the endless autocrats. More than that, it was a product of ideas of the Enlightenment and even adding influences of the Iroquois League of Nations and those of Ancient Greece and a touch of Rome. Thus was born the most Brilliant document in the history of Human Governance: The US Constitution.
Disparage the US all you want, call it the Devil if it makes you feel better, but here we have Checks and Balances, Co-equal Branches of government, Local Police and towns that don't run on bribes, where a lowly janitor can sue a President and win. Where a President can be arrested. Where we can openly criticize our government and its leaders, even mock them in derision with no fear of reprisal or being jailed. We don't outlaw words such as "war."
You see, we EVOLVED in 1776 and Russia didn't. Sure Russia had a Revolution of their own and dispatched the Monarchy but replaced it with an all-powerful, paranoid state run by strongmen and autocrats. Even worse, Stalin killed millions of free-thinkers, dissidents and aspirants, just as Putin has been killing opponents and jailing dissenters. But Stalin killed millions and actually damaged the Russian gene pool, leaving an obedient type to breed. This has really stymied progress in Russia and why so much of the nation wallows in ignorance and poverty without running water in some cases.
What you call an engineered coup by the CIA conveniently leaves out the aspirations of the Ukrainian people to determine their own destiny as their European and American cousins have done. They don't want a Police State. They don't want rigged elections. They don't want Moscow dictating to THEM. So yes, We, and the EU and Japan and Korea and Australia support them because we want them to have the same freedom in all its imperfections and ugliness, the messiness of Democracy because THEY want it.
KGB Autocrat Putin singularly undid the International Order by seizing Crimea in a greedy, anachronistic, imperial act. The largest land mass nation didn't have enough land and coveted the land of a neighbor which even breaks a Commandment. But that wasn't enough, they have sowed division in every Democracy using social media and fueled Ukrainian separatists with weapons for years prepping them for 2022. Now they are stealing the industrial heartland and shorelines of Ukraine in a most barbaric way yet I tell you this will haunt Russia for generations.
In the Age of AI and smart weapons, drones and coming nanobots, Russia will now suffer endless attacks from within because they have created new mortal enemies out of once friends, the most foolish thing one can do. They did it at the worst time in history too when mankind has the ability to wipe itself out with one mistake. Yes compromise is possible but only before genocide begins. Russia would have done MUCH better to elect Navalny and then develop cooperative relations with Ukraine but Stalin made the sheeple unable to fight the Moscow machine and so the consequences are unpredictable but none of them are good for Russia at this point.
