Perspectives On Immigration
We have a documentation problem more than an immigrant problem
Zoom Out
It’s important to consider even our most legitimate concerns with wider perspectives in order to mitigate the sensationalism of media-driven narratives. You can almost bet you personally have not been harmed by an immigrant, and more likely helped. One perspective of our situation can be seen from space. The Earth is a perfect RARE planet (in our part of space) and it’s tiny inhabitants are not even close to visible from space. In fact the planet itself is not visible from the outer solar system, let alone the rest of the Universe, making the inhabitants, us, even more microscopic in scale than imaginable. So in reality, when you get worked up about migrants you are worked up about a few million “microbes” moving from one area of the planet to another. This is the God’s Eye view and this perspective doesn’t really give a damn about such a trivial, common thing that has been going on for millions of years. It’s only in the last few hundred years that modern countries and borders even existed. Some of our local microbes, however, are very perturbed for some reason, even though it is highly unlikely they have been adversely affected by the other microbes they often can’t even see in their area.
