Replace the Presidency with a Triumvirate!

The one “department” we really need to get rid of is the Unitary Presidency

Recent decades have shown very clearly how the US Presidency has become a mechanism for instability, fickle national policy and a downright danger to Democracy. In simpler times, one person (of high integrity) could perform the job of the Executive without much harm over a given term, even if the President was not shall we say, optimal. Earlier in our history, even fairly recently, the government and its staff was more tuned into the meaning of co-equal branches, checks & balances and the intent of the Constitution to maintain a stable government based on reason, altruistic intents and social need. This allowed us to become the oldest contiguous Democracy on Earth, nearly 250 years.

The peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next was something we all took for granted. Even when we switched parties, it felt like the USA was still the USA, just a different flavor. That all changed in 2020 as we all witnessed the first loser of a Presidential election to refuse to concede his loss and culminated in the disgusting political violence of January 6th, 2021 when the Loser riled up a mob he had bizarrely arranged for that day, promising it to be wild.
