Russia was always meant to be the small country of Muskovy with two main cities. The rest of it is ill-gotten conquests of far away, unrelated cultures that are tired of the Russian Imperial delusion. Eventually Ukraine will have hypersonic tactical nukes of its own and Muscovy will leave them alone.
