That’s a great addition to the hierarchy of possible consciousness origins, Ed! We might even also consider the Sun as a distinct source and the planets as sort of mysterious organs or extensions of its consciousness, and then maybe galaxies! It needn’t be all or nothing. I personally love the mystery and not sure I even want the final answer—if there is one.
