The grip of decades long propaganda and the remoteness of most of Russia does indeed feed the machine but it's not as well-oiled as Putin may think and numerous remote areas are seriously questioning the value proposition of the Ukraine War and this will only grow as their sons fail to return from the meat grinder. Patriotism fades fast when it kills your loved ones for no good, non-defensive reasons.
