The same can be said for any large corporation with a hierarchical structure of bosses, managers and workers. They still must follow policies, rules, protocols and laws so it's not exactly willy nilly elites. So what if we have educated managers who are good at reading, writing and arithmetic. That's what college is for...grades 13-18. The country has been well served for the most part with safer air, water, food, drugs, skies, roads, ports, etc. Our mission should be to raise the level of education of the population, not lower the education of our government.
