Who are the "we" that will learn what we need to know? I'm talking about a quantitative issue of too few gaining useful knowledge leaving the pivot tables to too few who know how to do them. Past is not prologue in this world because it is changing exponentially.
Youth anxiety and suicides are at an all time high. It matters because if for example, Putin starts a nuclear war, the survivors might not have the knowledge and skill to rebuild society upon radioactive ashes. Excel and Twitter won't be enough.
However, I do agree each generation seems to rise to the challenges of the time up to now but I can't help think I see terrible priorities leading to social decay and a lower "survivability quotient." Aim higher. Status quo is simply not good enough. It's lazy.
