Your map doesn't show that the US found another sinister solution to having to import slaves called chattel slavery where people were bred and sold in generational captivity so while imports were relatively smaller, breeding created millions more. So I guess you have to admit white folks also innovated extra cruelty but you won't.

Woke is simply facing History as it happened and not trying to put a positive spin on horrific behavior but rather condemning it as misguided and obsolete. It's not about feeling bad or guilty as a white person, it's about sympathizing how 300 years of chattel slavery and 450 years of discrimination, segregation and racism could create large swaths of poverty and disadvantage that still reverberate.
